In recent times, historic buildings become popular among people and even occurred a tren to know the history where you live in some countries, including my country, Indonesia. Based on my knowledge, the main reason of interest more people in researching the historic story is value. They like to know those via the Internet or by interviewing directly with a tribal chief.
Talk a lot about value, historical value has a unique selling proposition among people especially teenagers or young adults. They post the story of a historical place in their lives on Instagram or Youtube. Usually, this kind of post has more resend and comments, with almost all of them talking about unexpected stories behind the place, like how scary, the sacrifice of the hero, the historical design of the interior and exterior, etc. Even those values are used by companies for marketing on promoting their historical site or product with historical value by targeting teenagers and young adults.
In order to solve their curiosity about the history of the house or building they live in, they investigate or search on the internet by themselves. In investigating, they are not worried about asking directly to the head tribe and recording it for upload in their social media, and the respondents are welcome to be asked by them. Some people may not have the encouragement or intention for interviewing people involved in historical cases, they surf the Internet including Youtube or Instagram with keywords of the place name where they live in. Historical video created by a journalist or the media has a lot of perspectives from a lot of people who are being interviewed and beautiful camera angles, those kind of videos are usually more viral and searched by people than self-video creation.
